Big Draws for Ontario Immigration
Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) recently held some of the largest draws of the year on September 2. In these draws, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 2,643 people to apply for provincial immigration under three different streams: Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills.
Who Was Eligible
The draws mainly focused on candidates already living in Canada, working in priority healthcare jobs, or working as early childhood educators and assistants. To be considered, candidates had to create their profiles between July 2, 2025, and September 2, 2025.
Details of the Draws
Stream | Minimum score | Number of invitations issued |
---|---|---|
Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker | 41 | 1,305 |
Employer Job Offer: International Student | 58 | 1,105 |
Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills | 33 | 233 |
Which Jobs Qualified
For the Foreign Worker and International Student streams, candidates needed a job offer in one of these jobs:
- Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine, surgery, general practitioners, and family physicians
- Nursing coordinators, supervisors, registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, and nurse practitioners
- Physician assistants, midwives, and allied health professionals
- Licensed practical nurses, nurse aides, orderlies, patient service associates
- Early childhood educators and assistants
For the In-Demand Skills stream, candidates needed a job in:
- Home support workers, housekeepers, and related occupations
Next Steps for Candidates
Candidates who received invitations must submit a complete application to OINP for provincial nomination. Once nominated, they can apply to the federal government for permanent residence in Canada.
New EOI System in Ontario
Starting July 2, 2025, all applications under Ontario’s Employer Job Offer streams must be submitted through the Employer Portal. This change means that employers now handle the initial step of submitting job offers. Candidates who created profiles before July 2 must work with their employers to re-submit their profiles through the portal to be considered in future draws.
