Citizenship Application

Home – Services – Citizenship

Applying for Canadian citizenship is a significant milestone, granting rights like voting and holding a passport. It involves steps to ensure applicants meet residency, language, and knowledge requirements.

Citizenship Test

Applicants aged 18-54 must take a citizenship test, which assesses their knowledge of Canada’s history, values, symbols, institutions, and rights and responsibilities of citizenship. If you are aged 55 and older, you are exempt from the test.

Citizenship Ceremony

Upon passing the citizenship test and meeting all other requirements, you will be attending a citizenship ceremony. During the ceremony, you are required to take the Oath of Citizenship, pledging allegiance to Canada and receiving their citizenship certificate.

Becoming a Canadian Citizen

After the citizenship ceremony, you officially become a citizen of Canada. You can apply for a Canadian passport and enjoy all the rights and benefits of citizenship, including voting in elections and participating fully in Canadian society.
